The year started off with the worst month in a long time. Two trades, both losing ones, causing a total loss of $1524,50 Order execution was according to plan, but that does not guarantee success.
The difficulty with the major indices at current high levels is that a stop loss of only 0,5% equals 16 points on the E-mini S&P future, so $800,- for only one contract. So that just comes with current market circumstances. It's not unlikely the major indices will just go on higher this year, so that amount of risk is not going away. The same applies to profitable trades of course. The up and down swings expressed in USD will be bigger.
In the coming months, it's very possible we could see some extra volatility and lower price levels to bring back some fear into the markets. That's only good. With that fear, the major indices can easily make a new run.
